Located on the traditional lands of the Fort William First Nation, Mount McKay (known as Animikii-wajiw, meaning “Thunder Mountain”) is both a scenic viewpoint and a place of cultural significance.
Mount McKay is widely considered the best lookout point in Thunder Bay. From the top, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the city skyline, Lake Superior, and surrounding wilderness.
Unlike many viewpoints, you can drive almost to the summit, making it easily accessible for all visitors. A short walk leads to the main viewing platform.
