Penticton

Penticton is one of the most charming and scenic cities in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Nestled between Okanagan Lake to the north and Skaha Lake to the south, it is known for its beautiful beaches, sunny weather, vineyards, and relaxed lifestyle. The name Penticton comes from an Indigenous word meaning a place to stay forever — and visitors quickly understand why.

The city offers something for everyone. Outdoor lovers can enjoy swimming, boating, cycling, and hiking along the Kettle Valley Rail Trail or the surrounding hillsides. Families can relax at Okanagan Lake Beach or Skaha Lake Park, both known for soft sand, playgrounds, and picnic areas. For a touch of history, the SS Sicamous Museum & Heritage Park gives a glimpse into the region’s steamboat era.

Penticton also has a thriving arts and culture scene. The Penticton Art Gallery, Downtown Farmers’ Market, and South Okanagan Events Centre add life and color throughout the year. Visitors can unwind in the tranquil Penticton Ikeda Japanese Garden, or take in panoramic views from Munson Mountain Lookout, home of the iconic PENTICTON sign.

No visit to Penticton is complete without exploring the nearby Naramata Bench, famous for its award-winning wineries and breathtaking vineyard landscapes. With its blend of natural beauty, community warmth, and endless activities, Penticton truly stands out as one of British Columbia’s favorite vacation destinations.
