Western Canada Aviation Museum
The aviation Museum is a 91,000 sq ft facility at Winnipeg’s Richardson’s International Airport about 5 Minutes from the main terminal at Ferry Rd & Ellice Ave. All visitor areas are accessible by wheelchair. The Museum is one of Canada’s earliest airline terminals built by Air Canada. The lobby has been re-created to look like a late 1930’s passenger area. Moving further along, visitors come to the Richardson Gallery of Flight which has approximately 25 aircraft on display. North of this hanger is the Bush Gallery where there are 5 more aircraft and smaller exhibits. Children’s classrooms, The Shops, Model-building, Exhibits and Library/Archives departments surround the main hanger. On the second floor, Skyways, the children’s inter-active area as well as the multi-purpose rooms and the Flight Deck, overlook the active runways at the Airport – the best site for watching aircraft taking off and landing.
