The collections of the Red Deer Museum & Art Gallery reveals the history and culture of Red Deer and Central Alberta. The Museum collection consists of more than 85,000 objects include clothing and textiles, commercial and domestic material, archaeological and paleontological artefacts and agricultural machinery and equipment. The Museum also holds a collection of artwork from local, national and international artists. There is a Reference and Research Library inside the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery (MAG).

The Red Deer Museum & Art Gallery offers a range of learning opportunities for people of all ages with ongoing family activities, special events, adult programs and day camps for children. The Museum presents an on-going series of temporary exhibitions and interpretive programs in the fine and decorative arts, sciences, and humanities.
